Have you ever been confused about your Internet searches while you search for fitness equipment? Treadmills, elliptical machines, exercise bikes and home gyms can be a daunting task. Obviously we ALWAYS want and expect the best price.  So what do we end up doing? Well, we surf the Internet of course.

How the industry works.

This is a medium sized industry that invents, designs and builds cardio and strength fitness equipment and accessories for the retail and commercial fitness markets. 

The problem

In the last few years there has been a proliferation of Internet sellers that are slowly demeaning the industry with shoddy product, shady selling and affiliate websites that look as if they were legitimate evaluation sites. "So now we have people buying right off the net and basically on their own fixing it after."  An exercise in frustration!

The start of a solution

It is with this website that we are starting to fight back. We want people to buy properly. To purchase machines that are right for their exercise goals and machines that will live up to your expectations. We hope that this becomes a site that people interested in investing in fitness equipment will use to help steer them in the right direction.

We do not sell nor will we recommend one machine over another. This site is meant to educate the end user.

There has been many emails regarding wanting to know who is behind this site. It is my hope that we all will be behind this website and not 1 person. In order to make this work and believable we need input from manufacturers. 

Will this site survive? We hope it will it is about time that we fight back.

How can we help

This site was started not to sell fitness equipment by any means. We are not interested in that portion of the transaction. We are fitness manufacturers that sell to almost everyone that has a retail store in the USA and Canada. We have come together to report on our dealer network.

The rating system

We will post using a rating system based on stars. A 4 **** Star rating is the best, a 3 *** Star rating is a good dealer and we still recommend them but there are issues why they are a 3 Star which will be in the rating. A 2 ** Star rating is a so-so dealer. There are issues, they may still be a decent dealer but you will see the issue in the rating why they are only at 2 Stars. A 1 * Star dealer has to be watched. Maybe it is because they are too new, under capitalized, too small or other. Again we will list the reason.

A 0 Star is a DO NOT buy from this dealer. One dealer where we had too many complaints.

We do not take this lightly. All reporting is verified and agreed upon and this is not a personal vendetta site. As we get authorization we will list which manufacturers are on board. 

How do we rate?

• How long they have been in business
• Selection of goods
  
• Overall service competence
• Ability to pay vendors
• Any past issues?

We are not here to berate anyone. The rating systems can be changed at anytime. A dealer frequently adds new lines, opens new stores or takes care of past issues.

Manufacturer responsibility, Make sure your website it updated properly and do not point to dealers that no longer carry your product. Also, make sure no website lists your product unless they are a dealer. It's your product so make sure you send a cease and desist if this is occuring.

Again we are not here to sell anything but only to help make your choice of a retail shop a little easier to understand.

Specialty fitness retail

Why do I need to buy from a Specialty Fitness dealer? I mean can't I go to one and try what I like and go back home and shop for the best price?

The answer is YES you can. But you will more than likely be buying junk which is readily available as an Internet brand and will become a service nightmare, or you will be buying from a dealer outside the regular service area and again will more than likely find yourself trying to fix a machine without proper knowledge about electronics and more than likely causing some serious damage.

Dealer that lists what they don't carry? Don't even think of buying from them. They are website trolls that will bait and switch you to another product. Stay away from these retailers. Thankfully there aren't too many. If you're a manufacturer, clean up your dealer lists and protect your brand. 

We always recommend that if you are serious about fitness to buy at a Specialty Fitness dealer. They are there to advise and they will help you make the proper decision.
